OONI OF IFE ENDORSES #AFRICA2020- #ONEUNITEDAFRICA.

Foremost Yoruba traditional Yoruba ruler, the Ooni of Ife, Oba Enitan Adeyeye Ogunwusi, has

formally endorsed the AFRICA2020- #ONEUNITEDAFRICA PROJECT.

He described it as a most expedient project in Africa's 2020 events calendar. 

He was receiving a delegation of the organisers, led by former parliamentarian, Bimbo Daramola, on the sidelines of the recent General Assembly of the National Council of Traditional Rulers of Nigeria, held in Abuja.

Alluding to President Muhammadu Buhari's recent announcement of a visa-on-arrival policy to promote integration and cooperation in Africa, Ooni Ogunwusi said there is no better time than now, for Africa to rediscover the bonds that hold the continent together.

Ooni Ogunwusi opined that peace, unity and stability remain the bedrock and future of Africa, a continent so blessed in its potential and diversity.

While praying for the success of the initiative, the Ooni said the project has his full endorsement and assured of his support.

Ooni Ogunwusi observed that the Africa 2020 Project is a major non-governmental effort which will complement subsisting diplomatic efforts being made by Federal Government, noting that African leaders should support this initiative because according to him, the unity of Africans will accentuate prosperity on the continent.

He averred that a situation where Africans are being killed by their fellow Africans cannot, and is not in consonance with the dream of the founding fathers of the continent. 

He said he is not surprised that two former Presidents, Olusegun Obasanjo, and Goodluck Jonathan among others already endorsed the AFRICA2020- #ONEUNITEDAFRICA.
