SIEGE ON BIMBO DARAMOLA - Attempt to Circumvent The People's Wish.

Today officials of the Nigeria Police laid siege on Congressman Bimbo Daramola an

aspirant of the All Progressives Congress to the Federal House of Representatives (Ekiti North Federal Constituency 1- Oye/Ikole) who is popularly tipped to win the primary elections.

Against the agreement reached by Officers of the APC from the National Secretariat and the Aspirants at the stakeholders meeting that original result sheets would be used. Today, all the wards in the constituency had photocopy of result sheets. Both in Ikole and Oye.

The party members at the polling centres protested this dubious acts and calculated attempt to circumvent the wish of the people, demanding for real (original) result sheets. There were no elections on the basis of this key element in the guideline for the primary election.

After been informed of this awkward development, Congressman Bimbo Daramola decided to visit some voting points to call for calm by aggrieved members and ensure the agreed and due process were followed. On his way, Police officials laid siege on him and held him hostage till this present moment.

For a man who has laboured for the party for 14 years, serving diligently and respectfully, paid almost the supreme price and never decamped to be treated like this, calls for outmost concern.

We insist that justice must be served and due process must be followed.
