WHY I HAVE ENDORSED DR FAYEMI - CONGRESSMAN BIMBO DARAMOLA
Bimbo Daramola & Dr Fayemi |
Little Minds Dim Purpose and kill Bigger Dreams!
Yesterday i called an urgent meeting of our team and representatives of our family to brief them as so entitled to of what has happened since the Gubernatorial primary election of our party.
I am obligated to do so because i owe these broad spectrum of people a lot.
Earlier in the days after the primary election i had a thank you get together for this great team made of young men and women with capacities and capabilities, dedication and commitment of unimaginable proportions.
For 24 months we were all over the nooks and crannies of our dear state preaching the message of recovery and restoration of our pristine identity as a people that should be envied and not derided, thats the Ekiti heritage i was born into and the staple diet that we were fed growing up, the picture of today is at variance with this identity
So when i decided to join the race, i had my task clearly well cut out and we took the message and essence to all. I practised what i preached.
To deepen that message of recovery and restoration which for me is the bigger picture i leaned of these men and women, PARTICULARLY the young folks whose future may be imperilled the longer we remain on the downward spiral of our values and character that used to define us as Ekiti people.
We worked hard and together. We leveraged on the bright ideas of young people and wisdom of the elderly.
Out thrust was propelled by the energies of the young even as the elderly provided the direction to channel the energies, and without doubt we had a date with destiny, history and posterity.
Well we did not pull through at the primary and that is not news and i am not going to be rooted in the past because yesterday's lessons no matter how invaluable, they can only serve the future.
In the period after the primary, we needed to introspect, reflect and project, and at the nucleus of these three activities sits the future of our people and state. Certainly mine too not in the personal sence but corporate.
A happier and glorious Ekiti is one that will gladen my heart, and NOT ONE that is defined by the political position that i hold, that is the "closet picture"!
I have my observations and i am not one to pretend and mask personal ambition and cloak it in the garb of corporate ambition.
Well, a number of well meaning persons and men and women of good conscience and faith have also taken a broader and deeper beyond casual dissection of developments and adviced rightly.
I will never allow any circumstances least of all politics to redefine my identity or reputation as some nitwits want.
I am not one driven by unbriddled ambition, blind aspiration, borderless and primordial quest for wealth, fame or power.
For me the beauty of political power is how many lives i can impact, turn around, hope that can be restored, and my previous opportunity as member house of representatives can modestly show that.
When the last candle burns out, and curtain of my life is drawn, and the totality of my life story is told, i will hate if my story will be punctuated with, he is arrogant, full of himself or "unappeasable", especially if those are coming from people i respect and have long standing relationships with, this is what i have lived the greater part of my adult life for and that i still cherish.
To all the eminent personalities within and without who have gone out of their ways to restore amity between brothers, i want to thank you all. May God bless you all Sir(s) and Ma(s)
I APPRECIATE you all and i will hate to dissappoint you. Im guided by the fact that politics will come and go but #omoluabi can never go out of season.
And much as i would have loved to skip the #agboroduns and #arijenidimadarus , i really have just one thing and word for you, sympathy!
Much as you need time to reflect on your personal lives and ask questions about where you are headed; how impactful your own lives have been and how to also make your lives worthy and count, you are preoccupied with innanities.
One thing is clear , no matter how partisan you may be, and trying to be more catholic than the pope, your lousy posts and irreverent comments cannot vitiate my humble reputation, that i have earned as a die hard party man, selfless, and committed. I challenge you to come with yours.
I dont rely on facebook to amplify my commitment and loyalty to whosoever or whatsover, neither do i need rants to prove any point.
Humbly speaking i know who i am. I am not afraid to stand alone if my conviction validates that.
Politics is not a meal ticket for me.God has been gracious to me and the way to appreciate God is to lift others out of despondency and despair.
Herein lies the big picture, vision that unfortunately cannot find a place in little locked minds.
The bigger picture of politics that will make life more fulfilling for the greater majority is more important than self.
This is my creed.
My 16 years record as a party man with episodic presence at crucial moments in the trajectory of the evolution of today APC cannot be annulled by empty rants and posts, and does not need Facebook validation, so also today ,and regardless of all that may have happened in the last one month , i am sure H.E #Kayode #Fayemi sure has deeper understanding and reflections. He knows me more than your posts and tweets.
All the oppositions within and without will need 40years to cancel who i am to him and who he is and has been to me and vice versa.
For those who do not understand me, i am guided and driven by the twin of conscience and conviction, not crass opportunism that is the interpretation of politics today over and above impactful service.
My faith also further enjoins me to be at peace with all men as much as it is in my power to do. This also is intergral to my essence in life.
And guided by and standing on these twin virtues, i have made that decision that we will join other sincere persons and groups to work for our candidate
H E Dr Fayemi and our party, APC and without doubt i can still say that #JKF...#stillbetterbyfacts.
God bless you all.
God bless our party APC
God bless our dear state.
