2018: OUR DESIRES - CONGRESSMAN BIMBO DARAMOLA
#2018: #OUR #DESIRE.
Now that #campaigns and varying interests are sprouting from all angles of the States. Its no more news that the period for another transition in the state is tilting towards a crescendo. And it calls for a confluence of better thoughts and reasoning.
In Ekiti, We must encourage good candidates to emerge. Our next Governor must be within the 35-55 age bracket. The problems of Ekiti require energetic leadership. He must be ready to sleep fewer hours than the rest of us. He must be a great thinker and visionary, and must be prepared to sacrifice his all for our sake. He must be a man who has made a success of his own life and career. He must not be a career politician. He must be charismatic. Another dark horse is out of the question this time around. He must be popular across our state and known to Nigerians worldwide for his good works and worthy causes. A good knowledge of international business and a sizeable grasp of international politics would be of great advantage. He must be detribalized, and can come from any part of Ekiti. We have seen the abysmal failure of zoning in Nigeria. Zoning is an invitation to threat. It is a veritable source of corruption, where one zone will try to turn the stool of Government to their own heritage. Each zones try to steal more than the others as if there are awards to be won by the biggest thieves.
Our next Governor must be #civilized and #urbane. He must be able to jump on the road in his Jean and shirt, and lead our men, women and youths in a voyage of fruitful development. He must be truly fit as a fiddle in the real sense of it. He must be a role model and worthy ambassador to the youths, and must be media-friendly. He must be Godfearing but not a religious bigot. He must not be a member of any group that may compromise him and truncate his vision. He must be assiduously committed to nation building. Our next Governor must be a man who can command instant respect from low, high and average Ekiti people that resides in the state and beyond its boarders. The young people of Ekiti deserve a new lease of life. They are tired of the over-recycled adults whose appetite for poor governance seems insatiable.
It is time to put on our thinking cap, to avoid been caught in a limbo between confusion and uncertainty.
