A DAY TO REMEMBER OUR HEROES AND HEROINES.
A DAY TO REMEMBER OUR HEROES AND HEROINES.
Eyes have seen, ears have heard, a lot of water has passed under the bridge. Not too long ago a lot of mantras were borne; "Ibo Ido-Osi" that so many votes from a single Local Government that swallowed up to 5 local governments votes all together, "Ayoka" the REC that carried out the hatchet job, "Mr shoot me" that man that stood gallantly for what he believed in. In other news, the story that rend our minds off and tore our hearts apart was the naked protest by female septuagenarians, who want a new order in Ekiti State. We also cannot quickly forget Segun Ogundipe from Ido-Osi local government that got his leg amputated during the lingering saga.
In the quest of Ekiti State to gain freedom from the shackles and manacles of oppression and administrative recklessness, leadership instability of the then impeached Fayose's government. We all solicited and voted for a new order, but again after the whole struggle our mandate was stolen, and our collective struggle was hijacked through the back door.
We stood our ground and made our voices known, even the faintest of our voices were echoed and reechoed to be heard in a distant land even to the highest court for almost 3 and a half years.
Today, Bimbo Daramola met with the aged women and promised them that their efforts won't go in vain. The meeting today was emotional as the women recounted their ordeals and what has become of the Progressive Party in Ekiti State.
The women today lamented that they were forsaken and have nothing to show for the pains they went through. They appreciate the Congressman for his thoughtfulness to remember them. They prayed for him from the depth of their heart and promised to stand by him and his aspiration.
A new light will shine in Ekiti. Our heroes and heroines shall be celebrated.
