How Did We Get Here Ekiti? COME LETS TALK EKITI

EKITI NOW  NEEDS US ALL

For the past twenty months, i have had extensive consultations and actual meetings with #leaders; #elders ; #delegates and #members of our #party  the #APC and other party members and non politicians but Nigerian citizens of Ekiti extraction.

I have never been more convinced about the concerns of our people about the direction our state is headed, WHETHER EKITIS RESIDING AT HOME OR OUTSIDE.

Within Ekiti the question  always is; is this the best we can be? Some  people out of far reaching exasperation have said what is the benefit of having our state carved out of the then Ondo State.

Outside of our state, our kith and kin everytime,  there is only one concern expressed in two questions; what is going on in our state? How did we get here?

From my revolutionary studies, we are told to #stop #agonising but #start #mobilising.

Since the aggregate of opinion of Ekitis within and without, is that our state needs a concerted effort to pull us back from the brink.

I have decided to take a step for a pan Ekiti mobilisation to secure and save us from imminent bleak future.

Today due to non payment of salaries, our civil servants and their families  living at home (within Ekiti) are compelled to call  their relatives outside of Ekiti for one support or the other, if its not to pay school fees, it's to pay medical bills that is if they do not ask such people to come to Lagos Or Abuja for medical attention.

Rural- Urban migration is on a high like never before, more young people in search of brighter future, leaving our state in droves because of hunger; thereby depleting of veritable human resources.

These are contemporary realities.

One particular instance was when i met some Ekiti sons and daughters who were busy complaining about all sorts of things happening in our state and showing signs of helplessness!

Yet they are all successful people doing so well in various fields of human endeavours, some have employed an average of 18  fresh graduates from EKSU over the past two years! Yet so alienated.

Now after our meeting seeing the importance of being involved; all of them are coming back to get voters card!

As we get set for the future  of Ekiti beyond the present administration just 8 months away, it becomes necessary for all hands to be on deck.

We need ourselves now.

You do not have to be a politician or a card carrying member of any party to contribute your quota.

The greater Ekiti we desire cannot be left to politicians alone.

While my twelve years of grassroot mobilisation continues among my people at home, i feel strongly that anybody who is a son or daughter of Ekiti regardless of where you are; need to be a part of setting the right beacons and agenda for our collective future.

This is the reason behind this #citizenry #enlightenment, #mobilisation and #participation #initiative titled #LETSTALKEKITI , because we all have a stake.

The first edition is slated for Ekitis living in #Lagos and thereafter #Abuja and #Portharcourt and later the #United #States and #United #Kingdom.

To be a part interested persons and families  should send a mail to letstalkekiti@gmail.com for a formal invite.

Ekiti a gbe a oo!!

God bless you.

God bless our dear state; Ekiti.
