ACTING STARTED FOR ME BY ACCIDENT "Actress Kocabelle Guemini.

All the way from Cameroon to Nigeria,  meet Kocabelle Guemini. A fast rising actress who has featured in a couple of interesting movies. Known as Drip in the popular Nigerian series "The Johnsons". She's is known for an incredible acting skill and is gradually conquering the Nigerian movies industry. Micheal Irabor of Kinggs Blog had a brief chat with her vai mail,  where she gave us insights about herself, career and aspirations. Enjoy

Tell us a little about yourself.
My name is Kocabelle Guemini. Cameroonian and Nollywood actress.

How would you define a good role interpreter?
Acting just like every other job demands preparation. So I think being a good role interpreter is: when you are given a role, make research about the kind the person the script says the character is. Then base on your research and your abilities,  specifically redefine who the character really is. And then meet your director to discuss what both of you think of the character.

How did acting start for you?
I can say acting started for me by accident. I got interested in film through writing. So I was going to propose some of my stories to a tv station back home that used to produce a lot of short films. When I got to the building, a very famous Cameroonian comedian sighted me and right there offered me a role. Obviously the actress that was meant to play was late. So just like that I got my first role ever. I was 18.

At what point did you decide to start a career in acting?
Well after I graduate, I was lucky to get a job almost right away in an AD agency as creative director. It was an exciting job. And I thought I really liked it. But then someone was doing a film and I was recommended for one of the leads. I took permission in my place of work and went shooting for over a week. When I came back, I wasn't the same anymore. Being on that set I realized that acting was "my happy place". That was what I wanted to do for the rest of my life. From there I made the decision to plan a trip to Nigeria.

Tell us about your first time filming on a movie set.
My first time filming on set was so fast and exciting. It felt like everything went so so quick and so beautifully. There I was, doing this thing I never even have to chance to dream about. And everybody was hailing me. I was feeling so good and happy. And there was no script. I was just being told of the situation and then improvise. Like I said, everything happened so fast.

What movie were you first featured in and how many movie have you featured in so far?
The first film I featured in was a French short film titled "Taxi".
I haven't been in so much movies yet. I consider myself still at the beginning of my career. I still have a long way to go. There is so much I still want to do. So much. So help me Lord!

How does it feel being on set with the casts of"The Johnsons",  and are there ever times you guys gets on each other's wrong foot?
Being on the Johnsons set feels great. They've accomplished so much. They are one of the very few tv series to make it to 5th season and very soon 6th. And me coming along and enjoying their long time hard work and efforts feels huge. I'm blessed to receive all the credit I get from the fans. Really.
#. If we've gotten on each other nerves? No. Not really. On the johnsons we joke a lot.

Tell us about your worst experience as an actress.
Worse experience as an actress? By HIS GRACE I have not experienced the worse in my career and I pray I never do.

Tell us about the achievements acting has brought you.
Acting helps a lot in me living a fulfilling life. I pay my bills doing what I love. I mean, my passion pays my bills. That's a luxury that many only wish for. I'm just grateful. Really.

What is acting yet to do for you?
Well! Acting is yet to buy my mom a house. Lol. Hopefully very soon.

How far can you go at interpreting a role?
As far as hard work couple with righteousness demands.

What's the craziest thing a fan has ever done to you?
They are usually so warm and enchanting. Really I can't complain.

Any role models?
I won't call them role models. But they are people whose work I admire and wish to work with so badly.  People like Majid Michel, Genevieve Nnanji, Bimbo Akintola, Ramsey Noah, etc... You know acting is all about give and take. Half the time, your performance depends on the person sharing the scene with you. Most especially when it's drama. So I will really love to work with them knowing how well it will positively impact on my performance.

What are your life aspirations?
What I aspire to do in the future. To Create and Run one of the biggest film production house in the continent. Produce and direct memorable films. And... The list is very long. Lol.

Asides acting, what else are you specialised at?
Well like I said earlier. I worked in a AD agency before I came to nigeria. I have an HND in business communications and a degree in Advertising. So anything communication marketing, advertising is also my specialty.

How do you spend your leisure time?
I spend my leisure time watching movies, making researches about them and learning a lot. I read a lot too. Mostly my bible and Christians books.

If given a fortune, what would you spend it on?
If given a huge amount of money i will first and foremost pay my tithe. Then I will buy my mom a house, myself a house and start up on that film production house I mentioned earlier.

What are you presently working on?
Right now I'm working on a personal project to be shot in Cameroon by the 2nd half of this year by God's grace. At the right time you will know more about it.
