A 4 – MONTH OLD AZEEZAT TO UNDERGO #8.5MILLION SURGERY IN INDIA
A four – month old baby girl, Azeezat Motunrayo Raji is lying critically ill at Lagos State University Teaching Hospital [LASUTH] Paediatric Wards, 3rd Floor, Ward B, Cot 1, Ikeja, Lagos for heart disease.
The embattled baby girl now on referral to Indian hospital for unavoidable surgery for her to stay alive, the surgery and other logistics is estimated to be over #8.5 Million.
According to her parents, Mr. Aderemi Raji and Mrs. Funmilola Raji confirmed that Azeezat, second born of her mother was born on 29th October, 2015 as a bouncing healthy baby girl, very lively and full of life until late January this year when they noticed her respiration was on faster lane as the heart beat could be heard aloud which was contrary to normalcy and that she could not eat as usual thereby making her body structure emaciated to now become a small sack of bone with her ribs out of flesh.
Her mother, Mrs. Funmilola Raji who resides at 2, Alaulateef Agbede Transformer along Ita Oluwo Road, Ikorodu, Lagos said she could not rely much on the traditional healer hence, she took her to Agbede Transformer Primary Health Care Center, Ikorodu where she was given referral to Ikorodu General Hospital, Ikorodu, Lagos, she was on admission there for more than three weeks and within the period she was referred to Gbagada General Hospital for Echoes and X- Ray Tests.
The outcome of the two tests confirmed by the doctor in charge that the baby girl is battling hard with heart disease thereby referring her to LASUTH, Ikeja, Lagos for a specialist’s attention.
There at the Teaching Hospital, the specialist in charge of the girl’s case diagnosed and carried out series of tests including placing her on oxygen for days all to no avail perhaps, the non availability of the required tools for the baby girl’s heart surgery at LASUTH necessitated her referral to Indian Hospital as we believe that there are so many qualified surgeons in the college of medicine.
Azeezat’s father,Mr. Aderemi Raji, a business man in a separate interview confirmed that the amount realized from the sales of his valuable items like landed property, car, electronic gadgets, etc had been used for the payment for series of tests she was subjected to for her survival and her mother, too, a Nursery/Primary School Teacher in a private School on monthly take home of #15,000 confirmed she had sold her jewellery and other valuable items yet the amount realized is nothing to write home about as regards the amount needed for her surgery hence, the appeal through this medium to good spirited Nigerians, Religious bodies, Corporate bodies and philanthropists to come to their aid as it is evidently clear that they cannot on their own raise the required substantial amount for the baby girl surgery in India.
The tearful couple has managed to open account in the name of the baby girl for donors’ assistance in raising the money to save her life.
“We don’t want her to die”, said Azeezat’s parents.
