Democracy day is an illusion until we deal with the source" pro Joshua Iginla
The General Overseer of Champions Royal Assembly, Pro. Joshua Iginla has enjoined the Buhari led government to fix the Niger Delta issue with caution.
According to the Abuja based clergy while ministering on Sunday, May 29, 2016 at Champions Royal Assembly to commemorate independence day he charged that until the problems of that region is tackled from the root, Nigeria will continue to struggle. He said how can the producers of oil be in myraids of socio economic problems and expect peace to reign in the country .
Furthermore , he claimed that the major issue affecting the development of the country is that we have many people who are interested in harvesting without sowing. Iginla stated that if we don't fix that issue, It will be difficult for the country to move forward as expected.
" we claimed we are celebrating democracy day but until we tackled the major problems plaguing us from the source, it would be difficult to enjoyed the dividend of democracy. Look at what's happening in the Niger Delta. How can the community producing the oil be in abject poverty and expect peace to reign? It's sad when the products are suffering and harvesters enjoying the benefits from the oil. That's why their is agitation from that region. Also, aside corruption we should tackle the menace of tribalism . We are so tribalistic in this country and it's having an adverse effect on us. That's why Nigeria is still crawling. Until we deal with the foundation we will continue to grapple with the numerous issues affecting us"
