My Greatest Assets - Actress Uche Ogbodo

Veteran Actress, and mother of one,  Uche Ogbodo is our guest on this week's KINGGS BLOG Exclusive. Via a mail conversation with Micheal Irabor, she lets us in to some facts about her self, like why she was away for a particular period of time,  and what she was up to at that time,  and a bit of happenings in her private life. What you do not know abt me is that I am a die hard religious woman.. 

What does it take to be a successful actress? 
To be successful in my career , you need steadfastness and Lots of dedication.

Tell us about your days as an upcoming Actress,  the challenges you faced,  and how you were able to overcome. 
My days as an upcomer were very challenging for me. I put a lot of my time and energy into becoming one of the most sort after actors of my days. I dedicated my time ,in the sense that I dropped out of school at my second level in the university, just to face my career.  It wasn't easy at all coupled with the inner challenges I faced with the inner caucus,but I thank God those days are over. And am finally back to school, studying Banking & Finance in The University Of Nigeria Enugu Campus. So all those days are gone.

Share with us the great Achievement acting has brought you. 
Acting has brought Me a lot of Recognition & Fame in the Society ,even in diaspora. I have been opportuned to be where I never thought I would be in my life. I have done things I thought usually will take a hundred years to achieve and been honoured in more ways than I thought possible in my life. I am really grateful for all this.

You were away from the country,  and movie screen for a while,  what were you into during that space of time,  and what prompted you to come back full time into Nollywood? 
I went away at a time to have my lovely Daughter Mildred. But that is over a year now. During that time I stayed away from the screen because, I was busy being pregnant and having my Child in the US. But am back now and I have also gone back to my job and school. Because the love I have for my job,won't possibly let me stay away for too long.So am back doing what I know how to do best.

Would you say nollywood has improved in anyway,  and do you feel there are angles we need to improve on? 
Of course  Nollywood has improved in obvious ways that all can see. Cus we now have better quality products in the market. And we use high quality equipment now unlike before when we didn't have the resources to do that or high tech studios to carry out high definition mastering of our works. The only major Challenge in my opinion we are facing now is Lack of good channels to help market our products after post production. Another one is the pirates. Piracy is the devil that won't allow investors peace of mind but I believe some day ,they too will be a thing of the past.

What do love about being an actress? 
I love that I am able to turn into or become any person or character I want to become. It gives me so much joy when I am telling stories of other people in their body instead of mine. Replaying events that happened even in my absence . It is pure Grace and I enjoy it a lot. 

What's the craziest thong a male fan has ever done to you,  and how do you handle your desperate male fans? 
The craziest thing a male Fan has done to me is Kiss me when I wasn't even aware of it. Well as a star one is bound to experience lots of discomfort in trying to show love to your Fans. It's not really easy  trying to be in their good book. So what I do is Smile , Laugh, Smile again at everything' funny or not. Just like a little bird told me too. 

What are your aspirations in life,  and what is your greatest fear? 
My aspiration in Life is to go down in history as one of the greatest Women of my time. And my Worst fear is not being able to achieve that dream. 

Who is your kind of man? 
My kind of Man is a God Fearing , Understanding, and Strong physically,mentally & otherwise. Such a man is the one who can Love me for who I really am.

 Your greatest assets? 
My Greatest Asset Right now would be my Lovely Child Mildred .

How do you spend your leisure time? 
I hardly have leisure times , becos I am always really busy from Location to School to taking Care of my Daughter. Its not really easy. But I love to go shopping a lot too when I find time. 

If you were a fancy car which would you be,  and why? 
If I were a Fancy Car , I would be a Rolls Royce. Sexy, Strong, & presence. 

What you presently working on? 
I am currently Writing my third Year Exam in school. And I have lots of Scripts am working presently on , also things that involve in company. Which I shall be unveiling soon.

If given a fortune,  what would you spend it on? 
 I would Spend a Fortune On people who desperately need my help. Thanks
