I Am More Of A Family Person Than Public Figure. - Actress Lukie Lawson
It isn't easy being a wife, mother, public figure, and maintaining an incredibly hot body. But Ghanaian actress Luckie Lawson has been able to pull all these off with ease. A strong woman she is I must confess. Recently, Micheal Irabor of KINGGS BLOG, had an interesting chat with the multi talented actress, and movie producer. In this chat, she revealed a lot about her self to us. Enjoy, and share.
How did acting all start for you, and when did you decide to take it professional ?
Acting started for me in 2006.. But before that I came in 2003 to produce a script that I thoought was best then. A family friend, Uncle Emmanuel Amah introduced me to Frank Rajah. We went to Nigeria to shoot the movie. When we got there I wanted Ramsey Noah, Rita Dominic, Jim Ike, and Emeka Ike to feature in the movie. I wanted the creme De la creme. I swear I was just way over my head . Wow that was 13yrs ago, am getting old. Well in 2005 I came back tryimg to produce again with my good friend of mine who also helped me a lot in the industry, Van Vicker. We came out with something really really good called 'babe Town' and also did my first movie Mommy's Daughter, afterwards, Royal Battle. In Less than a year in business I was pregnant with my son Jayden and took some time off to start a family, Jayden just turn 8 the other day. So proud of him. I started taking acting as profession when the movie "Royal Battle" was released. I saw how well I did for a first timer. But I was pregnant then.
Tell us about your walk into limelight. Your strives, challenges, and how you were able to sustain, and attain success.
My challenges was always timing and family. I think those were my biggest. The others comes with the job. My strives have always been to be a better person for my kids, raise them well. Being a role model to them. When it comes to my profession to make whatever character am playing really believable that you won't see Luckie Lawso Gyan. For me I don't think am in the limelight yet but very very very soon I will be.
Of all the movies you have produced, and featured in, which would you say was most tasking?
All the movies I have been or in, or have produced. I will pick the second movie I produce.. "Family strangers" the making and the proces of it was crazy. Turned my house into a movie warehouse. Lol my brother from another mother Pascal Amanfo was like, "we can do it and we actually did it. My crew Lebey and Bismarkthejoke was something else on the set, I mean everyone did awesomely.
Then comes the last job i did with director Leila djansi. I think that character hit me deep. I had to look for her in me, my mom and many African mothers I had the pleasure of knowing. And it took me some time to turn the character off after we finish shooting

So for everything to go well in his life, he needs to find me. I use to get like 10 messages from him on Facebook. He says he was gonna kill himself if I don't tell him I love him. Some real crazy things he would send. Every time I come online he inbox me. The last message I got from him before I blocked him was, he said he was coming to Ghana to take me to Nigeria. I went on his page and he had only 2 pictures some old picture of him doing some woman's hair. I guess he was a hair dresser. I told him I know his account is fake and am giving all his mails and videos to the police and put him on the news if he doesn't leave me alone. Then I blocked and delete him.
