MY GUILTY PLEASURES ARE THE LADIES - Moblow (Mr Wiggle)
Young creative, and talented singer, Moblow, porpularly known with the trending dance step 'Wiggle', is one artiste whose name is on the lips of everyone in the country presently, and he is making us proud with his style and pattern of music. This young man is doing so well in his music thingy, and from the look of things, he is going to be in our faces, and hearts for a pretty long while. He had a mail conversation with MICHEAL IRABOR of KINGGS BLOG, and he shared with us some of the few things we didn't know about him. Enjoy.
In as much as we know who you are, there are things we don't know about you. Tell us some things we do not know about you.
There isn't actually much you don't know about me. Let me think, oh, yeah, I am not as quiet as I look. I can be a very crazy, and troublesome person at times. In a good way though.
Define your style of music?
My style of music is called "Salad" you know how you make salad with different spice,veggies, and flavour tossed together to make something fresh, and natural, that is so good for the body. That's how my sound is, its a mix, and blend of everything. Fresh but in plain terms, the genre is Afropop and R&B basically.
-How did your musical career all begin, and what prompted you to take it seriously?
It basically began in my school days, I have always loved music, freestyling and dancing in class. But what prompted me to take it seriously was my elder brother. Yes he is a musician too it runs in the family lol. My brother was a member of the Uk urban group called "BigBrovaz" and also member of JJc&419 crew in the Uk where Jjc,Don jazzy and D'banj also sprung out from. When I was in school, I used to watch my brother and his group on tv winning awards, doing shows, and touring across the globe. He called me one day after listening to one of my songs I wrote then, and said I should really take music serious that I have all it takes, I would say my elder brother really prompted, and inspired me to do music.
Tell us about the terrible experiences you faced as an upcoming acts trying to make a name for your self.
Ah! As an upcoming artiste, you face a lot of crap. people expect you to lick their feet literally. Asides from shows, people wouldn't even give a chance to listen to your music until you literally force them to. Some how, some way, there was this one time i performed at a school and got booed off stage, students were throwing plastic bottles, and small chops at me. They didn't even hear me sing, or allow my music play, they just wanted to see the big act of the night and not some new upcoming musician that they don't know lol. But we thank God though, story has change now. They scream, and take selfies with the boy now.
What inspires your lyrics?
My mood, my experiences and everything am surrounded by.
What promoted this new dance step (Wiggle)?
Hmm! this' Wiggle' dance step, na like play, like play o! (Started like a joke). After we finished recording the song, we were all having a listen, and loving the song so much. And as an entertainer, man must move, so I came up with the dance, and everybody in the studio was like yo that's the wiggle dance step right there. And ever since then it stuck.
Tell us about the achievements music has brought you so far?
Wow, music has really opened doors for me, this song "Wiggle" has really made people put me on the list of acts they look out for. Even Akon the international super star, called MayD and said he loves the song and when ever we come to the states he would like to meet me. I have met very important people and all, I have had few nominations here and there for the song 'Wiggle' . So its just a good feeling generally, thanks to God, my fans, and family.
What are those things you look forward to music doing for you?
I want music to take me to the next level and, am not just talking about next level musically, I mean as a brand, becoming a business man, an entrepreneur, having different major franchise because, the way I see music, its just a stepping stone, a platform to do and build bigger things in life. So there is so much more to be done aside from just giving your fans good music.
What are your aspirations?
My aspirations begins with finding happiness within myself first, and to achive my goals and ambitions in set time. I also aspire to be so blessed, so I can continue to give, and share with others Gods great gift he has blessed me wit
Greatest fear?
My greatest fear, not just in music but in life generally, is the fear of being Unsuccessful in anything I do. That's why at the back of my mind I tell my self, what ever I end up doing I have to make it work always.
What are your secret pleasures?
My guilty pleasures are the ladies. I love my female fans, the energy, and chemistry we share, is between my self, and them no one else can understand lol. Of course I love cool cars aswell, and the best of garments. looking stylish and trendy is my thing all day, any day. I can use 2hours to put what I want to wear together. I take my time to look good but not vain don't get it twisted.
Any mentor, and celebrity crush? My mentor is my elder brother trust me he inspired, and pushed me to do this great thing am doing today. And for the celebrity crush, I don't think am crushing on any one for now instead, they are crushing on me.
What are you presently working o
I am working on new songs obviously, but for now still pushing and promoting my new single featuring Mr MayD "Wiggle". Its just 2months old so there is still lot of work to be done on, and with the song. Its still a baby growing, and growing really fast.
-If given a fortune, what would you spend it on?
Would spend a fortune on family, blood is thicker than water. And on the progress of my nation, building a better Africa because, we do need change.
