2face Idibia Is Nigeria's Best Male Musician - JBryte
Tall, young, and fast rising musical act JBryte, who is known for his incredible musical talent, and tremendous vocals, recently had a brief but, captivation conversation with Kinggs Blog's Micheal Irabor. He tells us about his journey so far, and his plans for the Nigerian music industry. Enjoy!
Tell us something we do not know about you.
My names are Derek Ajibola J'Bryte, raised in lagos Nigeria, Am from ogun state, one thing you don't know about me is that, i am also fashion designer, stylist
Art illustrator as well. Am the first of two from my mother.
What's your definition of good music?
Basically a good music should pass a great message, great sound, coposition. Whether slow or fast tempoed, there should be something for the listener or audience to hold onto at the end of the day.
How did your journey in music begin?
I have always been a lover of good music ever since childhood days, from Afrobeat to Pop, Highlife, Rock, hip hop, but majorly and particularly was more interested in R&B sounds, Started music professionally 14, back in high school.
What inspires your style of music?
This days versatility is the key. I listen to almost all genres of music, from the oldies to the new school sounds. Inspirations come from words, sounds, slangs from the street, moments, and situations around me.
Any album, how many singles?
I have just two released singles. No album yet.
What are your plans for the Nigerian music industry?
No 1 goal is to break barriers, stamp Nigerian music to the parts of the world that the already established Nigerian Artistes are yet to storm. Create more slots for other generations of musicians coming out of Nigeria and Africa at large. More prospects and honors.
Any mentor?
Michael Jackson, Fela, Usher Raymond, Hugh Masekela, Vybez Kartel, Salif Keita, Youseff Oundo, Bob Marley, Femi Kuti and i like Chris Breezy as well.
-What are you presently working on?
Currently working new sounds, music video for my new single "Follow" about to storm airwaves in few days time, and also working on my clothing brand "DKNA1008" a classy urban outfits for everyone out there.
From your point of view, who would you say is Nigeria's best male Musician?
From my point of view, I would say 2face is Nigeria's best male Musician.
Your female celebrity crush.

What would you spend a fortune on?
I would spend it on anything worth bringing in a turnover. Basically anything valuable.
