Tell us something we don't know about you.

A lot of people don't know that i am a stutter. Most people don't know i studied banking and finance and also worked as an accountant in a firm called [SDOF].

What's your definition of a skilled comedian?

A skilled comedian for me is one that sees the humorous part of every situation in life. A skilled comedian is someone that has good delivery. A skilled comedian is a person that is able to study his audience, and know what goes at a particular point in time.

How did comedy all begin for you?

Comedy for me started as a hobby 18years ago in Auchi Polytechnic, Auchi. I started doing comedy because of my very good friend GIDEON AIMIONMWANMON. Then in Benin, in 1994 after secondary school, Gideon does come to my house and everybody liked him because he's very funny. he  tells funny stories that always ended every one of us in total laughter. Everybody including my Parents... Neighbors and even our landlord. So when we entered Higher Institution [Auchi Poly], I saw myself doing same in class. From there i started Mc-ing our departmental parties and before I knew it, other departments started inviting me to mc theirs. then i and Gideon started doing a comedy collaboration call PASTOR & INTERPRETER. We also formed a makossa dancing group comprising of two boys and two girls. And that was how i became know in the school...Auchi town and in Edo State because i started getting invitations from other cities even in Lagos. And in 2002 Coca Cola company called me to mc four different shows in different universities [UNILAG. UNILORIN. UNICAL AND OAU]. And i was paid N70,000 which was far above what i was earning where i was working as an accountant. And that experience made me to go into comedy professionally. And that was in 2004. But back then... i was called YOYO, pronounced yaw-yaw.

What was your first day on stage like?

My first day on stage was fun. Just like i mentioned earlier, i started mcing my departmental party because my performance started in my class.

What inspires you comedy creativity?

Most of my best creative jokes were actually drawn from my life experience. But happenings around me also inspire my creative mind.

What are the achievements comedy has brought you?

Comedy has brought me a whole lot of achievements. I became popular because am a comedian, and being a comedian has open a lot of doors. I am married with a son, and comedy is what puts food on the table.

What is comedy yet to do for you?

A global figure. I want that name D' LECTURA to be a brand name globally.

What are the few things you put into consideration before stepping on stage to do comedy?

I study the audience so as to know the jokes that will fit in. I also consider my appearance and my first approach so as to catch their attention.

What is that thing that is likely to create stage fright in you when going on stage to do comedy?

The audience. Fright comes up when i notice that am about to deal with a very stiff audience or, audience that are not paying attentive. But its good one learn how to manage stage fright by taking advantage of it. Because that is the point your mind is suppose to start working on how best to take care of the present issue.

Most entertainers see marriage as a distraction to their career, do you share that same school of thought?

Naaaa... My marriage has been very peaceful. Because i married not just for love but understanding. My wife, before i married her knew what my job entails. So it doesn't bother her when i come back home or how often i go out at night because, she know say i gat hustle. Its actually lack of understanding that causes distraction. Marriage isn't a distraction.

What are you presently working on?

I am presently putting plans together for my quarterly show tagged ~AN EVENING WITH D'LECTURA~. And also plans has been concluded for my comedy club at 3SIXTY DEGREE LIQUID LOUNGE.
